Frequently Asked Questions 1. How much homework can we expect every night?
Our goal as a fourth grade team is to keep homework time under an hour each night. Students are expected to read independently or with a family member for 20-30 minutes and will be given a weekly log to have signed by a parent. Math homework should take between 25 and 30 minutes. Please feel free to send me a note if your child has been working diligently for 30 minutes and has not yet finished.
2. How much does lunch cost?
A student lunch is $1.75. Adult lunches are priced a la carte. Please feel free to join your child for lunch! Remember to check in at the front office before meeting your child in the cafeteria.
3. How can I nominate my child for AG?
Please let either myself or Mrs. Dyane Barnett know that you would like to nominate your child for AG testing. Mrs. Barnett will ask that you submit the request in writing, providing a description of your child's strengths.
4. How do I sign up to be a volunteer?
Many of you already signed up with me to be a classroom volunteer! Thank you! The most important thing to know is that, as a volunteer in any Wake County school, you must complete the Volunteer Online Registration. You may stop by the school's technology lab during morning arrival time or open house nights to complete this registration.
5. How can I set up a parent-teacher conference?
Please email me whenever you need to meet with me. I am happy to conduct a conference over the phone, through email, or in person, whatever works best for your schedule. I plan to have scheduled conferences towards the end of the first and third quarters with each student and their parent(s).
